Design and Development of a Battery Equalization Platform for Research Applications
The objective of this work is to design, implement and validate the hardware of a battery equalization platform intended for research on battery management systems. The platform will comprise a control board responsible for system control, data acquisition and communication, and a power board responsible for the switching and energy transfer between battery modules through a DC-DC converter. The student will analyze the current laboratory prototype, propose an optimized electronic architecture according to the present research requirements, redesign the electronic schematics and printed circuit boards, select the main electronic components, and validate the operation of the new platform under laboratory conditions. The work will also include the preparation of the manufacturing and assembly documentation required for the fabrication of the prototype. One of the objectives is to obtain a compact, modular and fully functional platform that can be employed in future research on battery equalization and battery management systems.
