Modeling and control of the type-I merged quadratic boost - Cuk converter for output voltage regulation
1. Modelling the steady-state behavior of the type-I topology of the merged quadratic boost - Cuk converter. 2. Modelling the nonlinear dynamic behavior of the type-I topology of the merged quadratic boost - Cuk converter. 3. Obtain the small-signal model and derive the transfer functions of the type-I topology of the merged quadratic boost - Cuk converter. 4. Characterize the frequency response of the type-I topology of the merged quadratic boost - Cuk converter for different operation conditions 5. Design appropriate controllers to ensure output voltage regulation in the type-I topology of the merged quadratic boost - Cuk converter. 6. Validate the correct operation of the proposed controller in face of input voltage and load disturbances. Methodology: The development of objectives 1 to 4 aims to obtain accurate models of the type-I topology of the merged quadratic boost - Cuk converter. Based on these models, objective 5 focus on designing an appropriate controller to ensure stable and robust operation of the converter providing a regulated output voltage. Finally, objective 6 consists on assess the correct operation of the closed loop system regarding transient response to disturbances in the input voltage and the load. MATLAB software will be used as tools to implement algorithms for analysis and design while PSIM will be used to validate the operation of the converters with the proposed controllers.
