Optical Biosensing Platform Based on Engineered Porous Alumina for Nanomedical Applications

This project aims to develop an optical biosensor based on nanostructured porous alumina for applications in nanomedicine, particularly in early disease diagnosis and therapeutic monitoring. By engineering the nanostructure and functionalizing the surface with biomolecular receptors, the sensor will enable highly selective and sensitive detection of disease-related biomarkers. The device exploits interference spectroscopy to achieve precise signal readout, enhancing its performance in complex biological environments. Porous alumina offers a unique combination of high surface area, biocompatibility, and chemical stability, making it ideal for integration into biomedical platforms. This research will contribute to the development of minimally invasive diagnostic tools for real-time monitoring in personalized medicine and targeted therapies.
